Bitter Creek to Walcott WY, June 1
"...After having breakfast in the boxcar restaurant, I left Bitter Creek for Rawlins. In this stretch, about 20 miles from Bitter Creek, I crossed my third desert, the Red Desert of Wyoming....There is a Red Desert Station on the map, but there is nothing there but a telegraph office..."
Waypoint Today: The remnants of the UPRR Red Desert station is long gone. The road that Wyman rode along became the Lincoln Highway around 1913, US30 then Interstate 80.
