601.8 Fort Steele - Memorial

Bitter Creek to Walcott WY, June 1

"...At Fort Steele there is nothing left but the ruins of abandoned houses. I now follow the old immigrant trail that winds across the River Platte..."

Waypoint Today:  Wyman attempted to cross the North Platte River over the UPRR trestle.  But, the Bridge foreman refused his passage.  Wyman was forced to follow the Old Immigrant trail to cross the river on the north side of the railroad tracks.
