Council Bluffs to Denison IA, June 13
"...I left Council Bluffs at 6:30 a.m. on June 13...About 20 miles from Omaha, at Loveland, I took a picture of an orchard and field still under water from the rains. "
Waypoint Today: Wyman was riding along the road out of Council Bluffs. This road would later become part of the Lincoln Highway that crosses Iowa. In the photo that Wyman took of the flooded area, the Northwestern RR tracks and elevated bed are visible in the background.
The Iowa Welcome Center in Missouri Valley is located on the road Wyman was traveling along in 1903. It later became part of the Lincoln Highway, then US30.
